Message from your President

2019 PRSA Palm Beach President

It has been an exciting year for this PRSA chapter. We produced meaningful educational programs and had lots of fun doing so. We formed new bonds and expanded our influence. We put together an outstanding Palm Awards competition and program event and honored deserving work and individuals. Just scroll down and see what we’ve done in 2019.

It has been my pleasure to serve you as president and serve with committed and engaging chapter officers and committee vice presidents and other exceptional volunteers. Because of our work, chapter membership grew by 10 percent in 2019 and our treasury has a higher balance than when we took office. A few members achieved Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) with the help of our robust accreditation preparation workshops. We lowered the chapter dues for students and retired members beginning in 2020. And, we will be succeeded by strong leaders voted in by you, ready to take the helm in 2020.

As the saying goes, "There is no 'I' in team." These 2019 achievements happen because there are volunteers who stepped up and said, "Yes, how may I help?" There are many rewards for being involved in our chapter leadership, but by far, it is the bonds of friendship that are formed while serving.

Yours truly,
Karen Galanaugh, APR, MSM
2019 President, Palm Beach Chapter
Public Relations Society of America

P.S. Our final 2019 event is a private party for outgoing and incoming chapter officers, committee vice presidents and past presidents. We will convene for a celebration holiday dinner at The Wanderers Club in Wellington on December 5, 2019.
