Lobstermania & Polo

Karen Galanaugh, APR, President-Elect

We’re excited you're attending the PRSA Palm Beach Lobstermania & Polo event on Friday, January 26th. The event has sold out already!

The polo match will start at 4:00pm with dinner to follow. Please feel free to arrive earlier, say 3:30pm, to get checked-in and out to the polo field in time for the start of the match. Even if you arrive later, follow the check-in process.

The Wanderers Club address is 1900 Aero Club Drive, Wellington, but the Google directions take you to the back of the Wanderers property, so simply continue straight on Aero Club Road to the traffic light and turn left onto South Club Drive (big sign says Lakefield North & South), the Wanderers Club will be on your left. Do not go through gates ahead of you, instead go around any line for those gates and turn left onto the club property and left again to go up the hill to the main entrance. Valets will park your car.

Our check-in station will be located on the Duke’s Bar patio. This means, once inside the building you will go straight ahead, tell the receptionist you are with PRSA, walk through the bar and to the left to our check-in and party area outside under the tent. Once checked-in, you will be directed to the polo match.

If you have any questions or need assistance with directions, please call or text me, Karen Galanaugh, at (561) 632-4378. I am a member of The Wanderers Club and all of you are, technically, my guests.

Please dress casually and smart. This is an outdoor event, so bring a coat or sweater. We will be on a grass field and we do intend to “Stomp the Divots” after the 3rd chukker, so appropriate shoes and charged cameras are suggested!

If anyone would like to look around the club and see the member areas, I have arranged for a staff member to tour small groups throughout the evening.

Just a heads-up, PRSA Palm Beach will be shooting a video during the event to promote our chapter as we're hosting the statewide PRSA Sunshine District Conference coming up in July. If you do not wish to be in the video, please walk away from the camera or inform our videographer.

The Wanderers Club management asked that I share the following:

• Cell phone use is permitted. Members and their guests are expected to observe proper cell phone etiquette while on club property. All cell phone ringers and alert tones should be off; cell use should be discrete and not disrupt other members and their guests' enjoyment of the club facilities.

• Solicitation of members or distribution of promotional material is prohibited.

• Please be sure to use the polo field bar set-up for PRSA. It is a cash bar only. No Cards.

• The PRSA bar on our dining patio will accept credit cards, but cash is preferred.

• The inside club bar, Duke’s, is for members only.

• The club has arranged for an extra delivery of Wellington lifestyle and horse sport magazines for you to take with you at the end of the evening. These will be placed on tables in the lobby. After all, Wellington is the “Winter Equestrian Capitol of the World!”

We are excited to have fun with you and fellow members of the Public Relations Society of America, our friends at the Professional Journalist Society, Gold Coast PR Council, Florida Public Relations Society, and others.

Follow us Facebook and Twitter, and tag us in your pictures or use the hastag #PRSAPalmBeach!
